WORKSHOPS in NYC

The content workshop I hosted during my group trip was a huge success, and I am so excited to launch more in-person content workshops in 2024. I will be putting all my traveling aside this February and March and staying in NYC to host weekend workshops.

The algorithms are always changing, but the skills necessary to create quality content are timeless.

Unlike any other courses out there, these workshops offer detailed, topic-oriented, in-person teaching and guidance. It is also a space where we chat, share questions and ideas, and meet other like-minded folks who are all interested in social media and content creation.

Before becoming a successful content creator and generating high-quality content, first you have to know the tools and learn the skills...

Social media platforms are forever changing.

HOWEVER…The knowledge and skills on HOW to produce the content and what the reality is like behind an influencer's life are guaranteed to be beneficial to your social media platforms.

FOUR WORKSHOPS

Depending on where you on your content creation journey, you may be interested in all the topics or only select topics. That's why our workshops are broken into four different courses.

So you don't have to pay for the parts you already know...

The algorithms are always changing, but the skills necessary to create good-quality content are timeless.

Each Workshop Includes:

· Two Sessions over two weeks on the weekends

· Two Hours per Session

· Small Groups of Six to Eight Students

· In-Person Teaching

· In Depth Tutorials & Analysis

· Personalized Feedback and Guidance

· Hands-On Demonstrations

· Live Q& A Session

· Tea & Small Bites

So many of you LOVE my style, content aesthetic and have asked me many questions about how I shoot my content, edit & color grade.

·Why In-Person Workshops?

I believe the learning process and the environment that in-person classes can create can't be compared with online pre-recorded courses.

Not every student learns the same way. Some people are visual learners, some prefer taking notes, and some learn best from first-hand experience. Skills and processes such as filming, editing content, and building and revising your creator media kit require hands-on demonstration and teaching. Effective communication is key to successful learning.

Each workshop only has a small group of eight students because my goal is to get to know everyone and create an intimate small group where we all feel comfortable sharing our progress and journey. In other online courses, you don't have many opportunities to get to know your classmates. In-person workshops can form community and personal connections.

Here in the space, you are learning without distraction. When taking courses online at home, do you tend to be distracted easily? So many factors can cause disruptions at home and make you lose focus frequently, adding to the lack of engagement. What you learn in a total of four hours over the two in-person sessions will be much more efficient than watching online courses at home.

·Why Two Sessions Per Course?

IMG_0903.JPG

Sometimes, during the class, you feel like you've learned and understood everything, but over the next few days, you realize there are more cracks to fill or more questions.

The first session focuses more on teaching and demonstration. We will cover the fundamental skills, techniques, and tips on the specific workshop topics.

The second session focuses more on looking at your work, giving feedback, and answering your questions. Throughout years of creating content, I realized that the most important thing to enhance your skills is practice.

Light homework tailored to the course will be given after the first session for you to have hands-on practice, and we will look at all your work during the second session for suggestions and feedback. The workshop is set up for a small group of students, so everyone's work can be reviewed and feel that they are in a safe environment to share. One thing I learned during my content creator journey is that you often need a second set of eyes to look at your work for suggestions.

·Who Are The Workshops For?

• You want to learn photography, video filming, and editing quickly- even if you are a beginner

• You want to improve your content creation skills, produce high-quality content, and make the editing process more efficient.

• You want to be able to execute the type of style and aesthetic you envision your content to be but don't know how yet.

• You already have some fundamental knowledge of content creation but want to improve a specific aspect

• You want to produce high-quality content without spending thousands of dollars on expensive equipment and software.

• You want to learn and understand the influencer industry for micro and nano influencers (<50K) and have the tools that best fit your stage.

• You want to be part of a community in NYC formed by people who share the same interests as you and are here to support you.

PREVIOUS WORKSHOP

The Workshop I hosted during my NYC Christmas Trip was a huge success!
I received great feedback from everyone and put all into improving and revising these new edition workshops.

What My Students Say

"This workshop was very eye-opening and educational, while still being fun! I learned about what being an influencer takes on the field and behind the scenes, as well as the raw truth of the hard work that goes into it! I look forward to becoming a content creator more and more while also realizing I could pace myself to explore what the right path is for me. If you ever get the chance, join in! 10/10 would always recommend!"

Want to stay informed on all the updates and news?

In 2024, invest in learning knowledge and skills to bring your content to the next level immediately. The knowledge you learn in these workshops is not just for now but for the long run.

6 WORKSHOPS HIGHLIGHTS

01. In-Person Teaching

Not every student learns the same way. Some people are visual learners, some prefer taking notes, and some learn best from first-hand experience. Skills and processes such as filming, editing content, and building and revising your creator media kit require hands-on demonstration and teaching.

02. Small Classes

IMG_1055-min.JPG

Each workshop only has a small group of six to eight students because my goal is to let everyone have a chance to ask your questions and show your progress to get feedback.

With a small class, I am able to devote more time to individualized questions, engage in more personalized instruction, and identify the challenges you might be facing at your current stage. I also want to create an intimate small group where we all feel comfortable sharing our progress and journey.

When joining other big online courses, you don't have the opportunity to learn about your classmates. I hope we can form community and personal connections in NYC through these workshops

03. Hands-On Practicing

You might have watched tons of tutorials online but still having a hard time achieving the goals. Or maybe just watching someone else show you the steps is not the best way for you to learn; therefore, you need more hands-on practice. During the workshops, I will have step-by-step demonstrations on how to film, edit, color grade, and make your media kit, corresponding with the specific topic of the workshop. We can all try the process together.

Light homework tailored to the course will be given after the first session for you to have hands-on practice, and we will look at all your work during the second session for suggestions and feedback. As a content creator, I learned that "Often, you need a second set of eyes to look at your work for advice. "

IMG_0602.JPG

04. Tailored Q&A Session

When joining a big course or online session, you might have questions that desperately need to be answered, but due to the large amount of students and the online setup, you might have a hard time having your questions answered. The benefit of a much smaller in-person group is more efficient communication

Because each workshop has a small group of students, it is easier for us to find common questions that everyone shares, therefore being able to target them efficiently. Moreover, we don't have to waste time answering questions that everyone in the class already knows the answers to.

05. Tea & Light Bites

Who doesn't like some munchies in class? We are having a little tea party for each workshop. This definitely adds more fun to the whole learning experience, and no one has to sit through the workshop with an empty stomach.

We offer hot tea and other types of refreshing drinks, as well as sweet and savory bites, with gluten-free options available. The sandwiches and sweets we offered in our last workshops got great reviews.

Some say that a little refreshment helps them think and learn more efficiently. Do you agree?

06. Networking & Community

Some of my strongest friendships were built through meeting in real life and having provocative conversations. So many people share the same interests in NYC and are at a similar stage as you on this content creator journey. Remember, being in or around NYC already creates an advantage for you

You might also be a shy person who needs an in-person and less intimidating setting like this to share your journey.  You might be someone who just moved to NYC or just started your content creator journey and wants to meet more people who are in the field. The workshops also create opportunities to network

Each Workshop Includes:

Two in-person workshop sessions, two hours per session– ($320)

Live Q&A Session– ($70)

  • Social media is constantly changing. Will the workshops still be relevant then?
The algorithms often change, but the fundamentals of creating good quality content remain timeless. Having the knowledge and skills to create high-quality and diverse content is the key to adjusting to the frequently changing social media platform.
  • I'm not quite ready to become a content creator yet; should I still enroll in the workshops?
Absolutely! The workshops cover both fundamental knowledge and advanced techniques in photography and Videography that you can use on a professional level and on a daily basis. Remember, knowledge is power. Even if you are still getting ready, learning about these topics and having the tools handy will prep you. So whenever you are ready, you can walk into the industry feeling more confident.
  • What do I need to bring to the workshop? What if I don't have a camera?
Nowadays, most people use their phones to take photos and videos, so our workshops mainly focus on how to elevate content that can be taken by phones. You just need: an iphone or android that can take photos and videos, and download 2-3 free apps that we will be using for editing demonstrations and practice.
  • Is this just another "Influencer Course"?
There are no influencer courses out there that offer in-person and small class teaching. These two aspects make our workshops stand out from all the other influencer courses. Also, unlike other courses that teach you how to crack the algorithms, our workshops focus on skills and techniques. It is something that once you learn, you own it for the rest of your life. You don't have to "test it out" and see if it "works for you" or not. There is no myth or luck behind it; it's pure knowledge.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    · All cancellations by you must be in writing and emailed to Company at the contact email address (hello@fishsflourish). · If cancellation takes place fourteen days prior to the Scheduled First Workshop Date, any payments made by you will be refunded. · If cancellation takes place between seven to fourteen days prior to the Scheduled First Workshop Date, 50% of the payment is refundable. · If cancellation takes place within seven days prior to the Scheduled First Workshop Date, you forfeit the entire amount remitted to Company. · Cancellation and Refund are not available after attending the Workshop.
  • Do you offer refunds?
Due to the nature of the workshops and the in-person experience, unfortunately we won't be able to offer refunds after the participants attended the workshop. If you have any questions, always feel free to email me: hello@fishsflourish.com.
  • What if I don't have any previous experience in Photography and Videography?
No worries! I started as a beginner too. I'm designing each workshop from my students' perspective and making them as easy to understand as possible. Because each workshop is a small group, I will be able to know everyone's level in advance and alter the courses accordingly.
  • Where will the workshop take place in NYC?
The workshop will take place in a meeting space in Manhattan. The exact location will be shared with all participants, along with more details, before the workshop starts. All participants must bring their ID to check in before the workshop starts.
  • I'm not able to travel to NYC for these dates. Do you consider offering the workshops online?
That's a great question! For now, I'm focusing on developing these in-person workshops and offering all participants as much as possible. If the demand is high, we might have more workshops, and I will consider making an online version available in the future. But for now, my main focus is these sessions in February and March 2024.
  • What if I'm in a different field? Will I still find the workshops useful?
The future is digital. Whether you are an influencer, a business owner, or a freelancer, you need the knowledge and skills to generate materials digitally. The editing and industry knowledge I'm offering in the workshops is commonly shared among many diverse fields. Knowing how to create and edit content will help you stand out in your field.
  • Will I be able to get a one-on-one teaching session? If so, for how long?
Each group has a maximum of eight students, which is already a much smaller setting than all the influencer online courses. The small group offers a more customized learning experience and targeted knowledge. But also, it is important to keep in mind that the workshop will be in a group setting, and everyone deserves an equal amount of time and attention. However, some aspects of the workshops are individualized: homework will be given after the first session, and during the second session, we will look at everyone's work, and I will offer personalized advice and feedback. Each workshop also has a live Q&A session for you to ask your questions.
  • Are there overlaps between the four workshops?
Since some students will attend more than one workshop, each workshop is designed with specific topics and fields to avoid overlaps. For example, the editing skills and techniques we talk about in The Editing Lab and The Color Grading Masterclass are entirely different. Those of you attending multiple workshops won't feel like you are going over the same thing several times.
  • Can I reschedule my sessions?
Each participant has one free reschedule for each workshop. You can reschedule your session for the same session later or switch it to a different workshop. Rescheduling is only available for sessions that are not sold out. Our workshops' maximum student capacity is eight, and we won't be able to add seats to sold-out sessions.
  • What is your late arrival policy?
Classes begin promptly at the listed start times. If you arrive late, you may miss important sections of the course. We suggest everyone arrive 10 minutes before the workshop starts to sign in and ensure you have the apps ready to use in class.
  • When does the enrollment end for each workshop?
The enrollment ends five days before the first session of each workshop, or when the spots are full.
