CAMERA SKILLS
STUDIO

Photography and Videography can feel daunting to tackle all on your own. You just need the right tools and tips to help you master these skills. This fundamental knowledge can lay a strong foundation for your social media career and help you grow and innovate down the road. In-person teaching with hands-on experience will also help you understand the content more thoroughly than just watching tutorials online.

In this workshop, we will cover:

·How to film and take photos with your phone: by understanding the basics of your phone camera, and how each of the more advanced settings greatly changes the results, you'll become a pro in no time!

·Camera settings and video format: Learn what is the best setting and format for your videos so the content doesn't get compressed too much when you upload.

·My go-to gear for photos and videos: Yes, they are all affordable. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars investing in expensive gear. There are many affordable options that can help you achieve the same goals.

·Six important tips and habits that take your photos and videos to the next level: Throughout the years, I realized that easily overlooked changes I made to how I take photos and film greatly improved how the content turned out.

·How to take content as a solo traveler: I've traveled solo to many countries and often take my own content in NYC. I will share my tips on what I use to create content efficiently while traveling solo and what you need to pay attention to.

·Framing techniques and how to use them: Learn the most common rules of framing and, more importantly, how to choose your framing based on the setting and environment. Good framing can elevate your content instantly and create a very strong visual impact for your content.

·Lighting Matters: How to shoot and film under different conditions? You might be very surprised to learn how big of a difference lighting can make to your content. You also need different settings depending on the lighting situation.

THE EDITING
LAB

12332.png

You have probably seen many videos on social media that make you go, "Wow, I wonder how they edited that?!" Behind many fancy-looking videos are easy to learn editing tricks. In this workshop, we will reveal many of the most impactful editing techniques.

In this workshop, we will cover:

·My favorite editing apps, as well as their "pros and cons.": There are so many editing apps out there; some are free, and some are not. Some are beginner-friendly, while some require some experience in editing. I list out their pros and cons so you can see if they are for you before you pay for the subscription.

·How to tell a story and create a compelling reel under 15 seconds. Storytelling is something that I pay a lot of attention to in my content, and it helps my content to stand out. I will share my go-to tips on making a compelling short video.

·How to create longer videos and still keep them engaging. Many platforms are pushing longer videos now, but you might find it challenging because nowadays, people have shorter and shorter attention spans. Your editing and storytelling can greatly determine if the audience can stay and keep watching.

·Common editing mistakes and how to avoid them: This will save you much time trying to figure out why your video's ending result looks different from what you are trying to achieve. Sometimes, even the slightest change in pacing or even one second matters.

·How do you select clips and edit them to fit your aesthetics and niche? I've gotten so many questions about this, and I have prepared several examples that show you the power and magic of editing.

·Learn my tips on selecting music that is more than "just the trending sound.": You might have heard so many people talking about "using trending sound," but there is more behind it. Choosing the right music within the trending sound category is crucial to setting the right tone for your videos.

·How to & Should you try voice-over: I will share my thoughts and tips on voice-over and how I think it works. I've gone through a lot of trial and error, and along the way, I've seen many interesting ways of using it.

COLOR GRADING MASTERCLASS

My color grading uniquely defines my content style, and throughout the years, I've gotten many questions from my audience. In this masterclass, I will show you all you need to know about color grading and how you can take your content to a brand new level.

In this workshop, we will cover:

·Learn what different tools, taps, and panels do and how to use them: There are a lot of tools and options to color grade your videos, and you might be confused as to what each one means and their function. I will decode that and let you know what are my frequently used ones.
·Tips on color grading photos and videos shot in different situations and lighting: Color grading is not just one formula that applies to all. Depending on the lighting situation and the composition of the videos, you need to use different color grading techniques.

·What are some of the hardest situations to color grade? Knowing this will save you a lot of time trying to color-grade content that is just fundamentally challenging because of how it was shot. This applies to both video and photo.
·Step-by-step demonstrations on how to execute color grading: Too much talking and looking at the slideshow might still leave you wondering, "But how exactly can I do that?" Don't worry; we will all be doing color-grading exercises together following my step-by-step demonstrations.

·What type of adjustments will affect the quality and clarity of your videos: Unlike photos, video color grading does have more limitations. I will show you a couple of color adjustments that will affect the overall look of the video, so you don't have to be confused about "Why does it look not clear anymore?"

·How to avoid "overly editing" your videos: You want your videos to look "beautifully edited" but not "too heavily edited." I will share tips on finding the balance and what you should avoid when editing.
