Sintra: Monserrate Palace

Magical, is the world that I describe Monserrate Palace. It is a place that transports you into a fantasy garden. The palace itself is so beautiful; even in early spring, the blooming flowers add a nice touch of color to the lushness of the trees around. We spent hours walking around. It is so quiet, makes you forget the hustle and bustle of daily life. The sound of the stream, the breathing of the wind, and the song of the birds have the power to calm your soul.

Besides the majestic palace, the botanical garden is the part that stunned us the most: here, trees and vines grow fearlessly; they become part of the architecture. It truly feels like stepping into a different universe. This is definitely my favorite palace in Sintra. It is a hidden gem full of surprises. We went there in the afternoon, the sunshine was beautiful, and there weren’t many people around. It is a perfect place to enjoy the tranquility nature.
