EmbaiXada: The Coolest Shopping Mall in Lisbon

This is one of the hidden gems in Lisbon that surprised us the most. In 2013, this historical palace from the 20th century was turned into a shopping mall with concept stores in fashion, coffee shops, and restaurants in the trendy Principe Real neighborhood. What a fantastic concept of combining the historical charms of the city with something modern.

An introduction to this place describes it as “a meeting point of people and experiences, tradition and contemporaneity, blending heritage with the newest that Portugal has to offer.” In many stores, the door, wall art, and even fitting room were kept in the original form, or unitized as something innovative.

We visited this place as one of our rainy day activities, and I’m so glad we discovered it. I highly recommend you check it out!
