NYC Chic Eats Guide

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

New York City is certainly a gold mine of good restaurants. Modern, chic places to eat have been the trend for some time now. Innovative menus, delightful decorations, healthy ingredients, and tasty flavors are essential to a popular restaurant. As a big foodie, there are several places I absolutely love. Some of them are pretty famous, and they surely deserve the title. Now come and check out this list of NYC chic eats with me!

The Butcher's Daughter

The Butcher's Daughter is probably one of the most popular plant-based restaurants in the city. The decoration is always one of my favorites. Being able to enjoy food while surrounded by plants and greens is such a relaxing thing, especially on a sunny day. The nature vibe makes me feel like an escape from the big city of New York. The fresh juice and smoothies are a must-try here because they are so refreshing. I am also in love with the Summer Citrus Salad and the Great Veg. The salad has a bright fruity note, which fits a hot summer day perfectly. The Great Veg is probably my favorite vegan sandwich! Every component in this sandwich is delicious. The cashew carrot cheese in it is so yummy! I still can't get over with how surprising it is. I can surely say that The Butcher's Daughter didn't let me down.

Outro

Are you a fan of a hearty brunch, good coffee, and a bright space? If so, definitely check out Outro. It is a cozy, clean, spacious spot near Union Square. They have so many options on the menu. I am obsessed with how colorful the food is here. The color combinations are so visually pleasing, and the little floral elements on top of it make me even happier. Some may think this is a "eat it for the gram" place, but no. The waffles here, both sweet and savory, are amazing. My favorite one is the avocado salmon waffle. It is always beautifully plated and freshly made. The soft, fluffy waffle just makes my day. I found Outro has one of the most reasonable prices as a decent brunch place in NYC. Each dish is super filling.

Good Thanks NYC

Australian cafes are certainly in trend now. Good Thanks NYC is one of the best. I adore the modern, clean decoration there, and they certainly have a good breakfast that will start the day. The Blue Bowl is so cute, filled with fruits and granola, and tastes just as good as it looks. I am a huge smoothie fan. This bowl is literally everything I want. The Poached Eggs on Toast is another star. Let the golden yolk soak up the toast, oh god, what could be better? There are so many things I love about this little spot. The staff is friendly and chill. This good vibe here makes me want to come back all the time!

The Wild Son

The Wild Son is located under the high line in the Meatpacking District. The first visit there was after walking down the High Line from midtown. It was the perfect spot for food. The pancake is a must-have. If you are in the mood for something sweet, try their warm, fluffy pancakes. The portion is huge. All the fruits keep a nice balance with the sweet notes. They also have several gluten-free options here. The burger is also delicious and huge. This place is fun, chic and clean. There many cute little details everywhere. Moreover, restaurants that have lots of plants always add points in my heart.

Tacombi - Bleecker Street

Tacombi has several locations in the city. The one I visit most often is on Bleeker Street. The bright, colorful decorations in the restaurant immediately take me to a sunny summer day in Mexico. I have tried pretty much all their tacos, and they are all amazing. My favorite is absolutely the sweet potato taco. It never stops amazing me every time I order it. The sweet potato and black beans balance perfectly with a touch of spicy from the chipotle cream sauce. I have not found a taco like this at any other place.

Citizens of Gramercy

Citizens of Gramercy, Citizens of Chelsea; you probably have heard of one of them. This location opened more recently, and it is just as good as the other one in Chelsea. They have lots of healthy, beautiful food options that make a perfect brunch. The Avocado Toast is delicious. Among all the avocado toasts I have had, I think this one has the most creative color combo. The pink beet sauce is both vibrant and tasty. There are also many other healthy options on the menu that I want to try so badly! This space is bright and clean, a go-to option for lots of people in the neighborhood.

by CHLOE. - West Village

I can't tell you how much I love this place. This is definitely my most often visited place on this list. Whenever I want a good sized meal and to eat healthily, I go to by CHLOE. This vegan restaurant has magic to make everything delicious. My top favorite is always the Quinoa Taco Salad. It is so flavorful and refreshing. You can find all the elements of a taco in this salad, and it is vegan. I sometimes also get a side of the Air Fried Sweet Potato Fries. Make sure you try it with the chipotle aioli sauce. I can't stop myself every time. The Guac Burger is another hit here. Who would believe that a vegan burger could be so yummy? The decoration is chic and cozy. The black and white stripes, plus the swing chairs, are so iconic. The bright, comfortable environment is another reason why I love to come here so often.

Egg Shop

I love everything about eggs! So, of course, I was thrilled to check out this spot! Nothing brightens up my day like the golden runny yolks. The Egg Shop is the place that does it right. It has a menu full of mouthwatering egg dishes. If you are a crazy egg lover like me, you will have a hard time choosing which one to order. The brunch sandwiches are filling and delicious, and eggs are always the star. My favorite has to be the Eggs Benedict. Everything is cooked perfectly. The poached eggs, plus the bacon, tomato, and fluffy toast created a rich flavor profile. It is usually super packed on the weekend. But I can see it is popular for a reason.
